LATE MODELS INVADE CENTRAL ARIZONA RACEWAY
On Saturday night April 13, the ground pounding Late Models return to Central Arizona Raceway to put on a great show for the fans. Also returning will be IMCA Modifieds, X-Mods, and the Dwarf Cars. The fans will get their money worth as this will be one of the few times in 2013 where the Late Models and IMCA Modifieds compete together on the same night!
Last time the IMCA Modifieds visited the Speedway, Ricky Thornton Jr had an impressive win after breaking his engine. Thornton held off Jason Noll of Peoria for the win. With Central Arizona Raceway’s progressive purse, the Modifieds could be racing for $1,000 to win as well if there are 33 or more cars. During the show two weeks ago, 29 modifieds were in attendance, and a few more are almost completed. Not only will Thornton need to hold off Noll, but he will have plenty of challenges from Anthony Madrid, George Fronsman, Tim Ward along with crowd favorites Brian Schultz and Shelby Frye.
AJ Heubner will be trying to claim another XMod win, but he will have to hold off Jeff Hartley, Jason George, Coolidge driver Nolan Morrow and Joey McCullough. Last race, the XMods brought plenty of action and tempers.
Brian Stehr had won the past two weeks and will be looking for a third in 3 weeks as the Desert Dwarf Cars invade. Over 20 other hungry Dwarf Car drivers will be trying to knock down Stehr including Tim Cotherman, Steve Kapaun, Ryan Henesey and local driver Jaycen Stacy.
General admission tickets will go on sale at 4:00 pm for the reduced price of $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors and Military, and Kids 11 & under are absolutely FREE!
